Wednesday Wisdom #33

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!  Today's post is not a quote, but just a little news.  I'm scheduled for knee surgery tomorrow and I've been sick since Saturday with a nasty head cold.  I need to check-in with the doctor today to see if I'm well-enough to go ahead with the surgery.  Keep your fingers crossed, I want to get it over with!

Wish me luck!

Two Images

Welcome back!  It's time for a new challenge at My Time To Craft and this time we want you to use 2 images on the same project.  Since Valentine's Day will be here before we know it, I used this opportunity to get started on my cards.
Everything on this card is from my stash of goodies. I used some foam tape to make the hearts pop a bit.  Please stop by My Time To Craft and see the creations from the rest of the Design Team.

Wednesday Wisdom #32

I've made the decision to be drama-free, so, I'm  not creating it, inviting it, or associating with those people!
Feels good!

All About the Love

I know it's still January, but Valentine's Day will be here before you know it!  Because we want you to be prepared, My Time To Craft has the perfect challenge for you - All About the Love.

I love the look of Kraft and white cardstock together.  The hearts were cut on my Cricut and mounted with foam tape for a little dimension.  The sentiment was stamped.

Please join us at My Time To Craft.  The rest of the Design Team has created so much to inspire you!

Enjoy your weekend - I have a 3-day one that I need desperately!  It was a rough week!
As always, thank you for stopping by...

Twisted Easel Card

The Easel Card is the challenge this week at My Time To Craft.  I thought I'd change it (or twist it) up a bit!  Here is my Twisted Easel Card:

I used the Chantilly papers and a couple of stamp sets from Close To My Heart.  You'll notice that this card doesn't look "straight" when it's opened.  That's the 'twisted' part! Here's a little "How-To" so you can make one of your own:

Start with an 8.5" X 11" piece of cardstock that is cut into 2 pieces:
You only need one piece - save the other one for your next card!

Begin by scoring your piece of cardstock at 5.5" and then score it again diagonally:

Now fold your cardstock along the first score line to make it look like a card.  Then fold along the diagonal score line.  It should look like this:
Do you see the base of the card starting to take shape?

You will need another piece of cardstock that is cut to 5.5" by 4 and 1/4".  It is pictured here:

Add adhesive to the one triangular section:

and attach your cardstock piece:
This is the front view.

Here's a look from the back:

The only thing left to do is to embellish!

Here are a couple of more pics of my actual card from different angles:

The side

Helpful hint:  I added a pearl to help keep the card propped open:

I hope you'll give this technique a try.  It's quite simple and makes a beautiful card for a friend to display!

Be sure to make yours and then share it with us at My Time To Craft...we'll be looking for you!

Music or Movie Inspired!

You decide!  I went with Music:
Sorry for the grainy pic.  No matter what I did, I couldn't get a better one!  I used Kraft for the background and some sheet music I had copied off the internet.  After cutting it, I inked it to give it a distressed look.  The Kraft was wrapped with some gold cord I had lying around and I cut a heart with my Cricut.  The sentiment is from a older stamp set and refers to Wild Thing by The Rolling Stones!

Be sure to visit us at My Time To Craft for some more inspiration and to join in on the fun!

Happy New Year!
