Song Inspired...

...is the theme for this week's challenge at My Time To Craft.  I just love this scrapbook page:
Can you guess the song?

This is a photo of my husband as a little boy.  The first time I saw it, I knew it had to be scrapbooked!  In addition to the sanded cardstock, cowboy boot, and hat, I love the burlap bow!  Now, can we talk about that adorable little boy?????

Be sure to stop over at My Time To Craft to see the rest of the Design Team inspiration. You won't be disappointed!

The song?  Mama, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys - but, you knew that. Didn't you?

Have a great weekend!

Be Mine Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and my stop along this hop! If you just arrived from Liz's blog, you're in the right place. I hope you're enjoying all of the great artwork!!  Here's a little Valentine's Day decor that I created:

This project started out here:
That's right, just a heart made out of wood.
After tracing the heart, I covered it in Tulip cardstock and edged it with some lace.I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut all of the roses in Smoothie, Hollyhock, and Tulip cardstock.  (Don't forget, all of these products are available by clicking on the SHOP button at the top of my blog.)  I finished the flowers off with a pearl in the center of each one.

I'm so glad you're here and I hope you'll take some time to look around.  In the meantime, I'd like to offer some Blog Candy.  After all, it's almost Valentine's Day and it's a Blog Hop!  Here's what you need to do to be entered into the drawing:

Decoupaged Clipboard

This is one of those projects that I've been wanting to do for a long time.  I just love the look of re-purposed clipboards and now was the time:

These photos give you a look at both sides.  This was an easy project, although, I will say it was time-consuming.  Now that's it's finished, it was definitely worth it!  Here is how I did it:
I used an old clipboard that had been begging to be re-purposed!  I used some sandpaper to "rough-up" the surface and applied a thin layer of Mod Podge with a foam brush.  I carefully place the paper on the clipboard and used my brayer to smooth any bumps and/or bubbles.  The back was the easy part. The front took a little more ingenuity.

First, I made a template so  I could cut the paper to fit around the clip:

I used the template to cut the paper:

This is where I had to be creative. The clip is not removable, so I had to use a clamp to hold the clip open during all of the "Mod Podging".  I used 5 layers of Mod Podge.

When everything was dry, it was time to add the bling.  I had some in my stash, but went to the store to buy more.  Here is a close-up of the clip:

E-6000 was used as the adhesive.
I'd love to hear what you think of this little project...
In the meantime,
My Time To Craft is having a Decoupage Challenge this week.  Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Design Team has created!

Till next time - Stay Crafty, Everyone!
And, don't forget, tomorrow I'm, participating in the Be Mine Blog Hop.  You don't want to miss it!
