Things With Wings

Airplanes, bumble bees, robins, they all have wings!  I chose a butterfly, instead:
The challenge is anything with wings, to keep it interesting, I used a different fold for this card, as well.  Be sure to stop over at My Time To Craft to see the rest of the Design Team inspiration and add your artwork to the challenge.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Art Philosophy Penguin

Don't you just love it when you can take an image that has one purpose and use it for another?  That's exactly what I did to create this adorable little penguin card:

The base of this card is actually an egg.  It is from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart.

Here is what it looks like on the inside:

I made two more ovals, sized appropriately, added some eyes, a beak, feet, and a bow tie.  Oh, the feet are hearts, from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge, and the bow tie, yes, you guessed it, from the same cartridge.
Remember, both of these cartridges are available by clicking the SHOP button at the top of my blog!
I made this little fella for the challenge over at the Die Cuttin' Divas.  Be sure to check them out!
Have a great week everyone!

A Sketch!

Are you inspired by sketches?  Well, if you are, this challenge is for you!  This week, My Time To Craft has a sketch for you:

Here's a little inspiration from me to get you started:
This card was created using the Tailor Made (C1442) stamp set, papers from Stella (X7147B), some Burlap Ribbon (Z1760), and some square Durable Studs (Z1705). Everything is from Close To My Heart.

Spotlight Technique

It's the weekend again and that makes me happy!  This was my first week back to work after Christmas Break and it was a little tough having to set the alarm clock again!

This week at My Time To Craft, we are challenging you to use the Spotlight Technique.  If you aren't sure what this technique is take a look:
You take a black and white image and choose one area of it to "spotlight" in color.  You can also find a tutorial here.

After you check out the tutorial, head over to My Time To Craft to see the creations from the rest of the Design Team and then create one of your own to share with us.  We love seeing all of your creations!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

A Kiss

It's time to get started on those Valentine's Day projects.  I was inspired by a card posted on Pinterest.  Click here to see it.  Here is my first Valentine's Day card:
I'm pretty sure you are asking, "How did she make that Hershey's Kiss?"  I started with a heart cut from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge - page 49. Think of it this way:  The heart is upside-down with the rounded parts cut off.  Here's a visual:
This heart is actually from page 71.

The "Kiss" is made with the new Glitter Paper featured in the "Who's Your Valentine" kit from Close To My Heart.  I stamped 'kiss' on the Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon.  It was then mounted on Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon on a card that was embossed with hearts.

I think this is a great way to make Kisses!

All About the New!

Happy New Year!  I can't believe it's 2013!  The holidays are over, Christmas decorations are packed away for another year, and it's time to get back into that craft room.  We have a fantastic challenge for you at My Time To Craft:  All About the New - new crafting tools, new baby, new house...you choose!

A friend of mine recently moved into a new house, so I made her this card:

Baker's Twine and Kraft Paper - 2 of my favorites!

Be sure to stop by at My Time To Craft to see the rest of the Design Team's work.  Then, get busy in your craft space and create something "New".

Be sure to stop back again soon.  I've been taking advantage of my Christmas break and have been quite crafty!  I'm going to be sharing and can't wait to see what you think!
