Fantasy

My Time To Craft is asking you for a Fantasy Creation.  Since I have nothing that relates to fairies, pixies, etc.( I know, hard to believe!), I made this:
The card began with a Kraft background.  I took a piece of Outdoor Denim cardstock, wet it, and crumpled it.  After it was dry, I sponged ink on it to give it more depth.  The patterned paper is from Pemberly and the gold ribbon was in my stash.  The moon was heat embossed and colored with marker.

Be sure to visit My Time To Craft to see what the rest of the Design Team created and to enter our challenge!  See you there!

Sharing this at Make It Monday too!

Christmas in July Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome back to our Christmas In July Blog Hop with the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!
This weekend we will be featuring projects all about Christmas! Can you believe how fast the year is going!

We hope you enjoy all of the great work this Design Team has done and find some Christmas inspiration.

If you came from Ginger Snap Scraps then you are in the right spot!

I had this giant clothespin in my stash of goodies. Using a little Mod Podge, I attached the paper to the front and back. Cut out 2 flowers - one in red, the other green, added yellow brads, and raffia. Once again, you have a cute gift! The best part of this project? I didn't have to use Christmas paper. This is from the Farmhouse Collection by Crate Paper!

Artiste - Day 5

Welcome back, again!  Here is another project for you:

I created this little flower pot with Sonoma paper.  Since the cartridge cut out small holes along the edge, I ran some ribbon through them to dress it up a bit.  Here's another view, showing the inside:
This shape is shown on page 54 of the cutting guide and 29 of the Assembly Instructions.

Speaking of the Assembly Instructions, here is the link to take a look!

I told you I had a little more information for you!

Happy Friday, Everyone!
Be sure to stop by over the weekend.  We are having a Ginger Snap Scraps Christmas in July Blog Hop.  You won't want to miss it!

Artiste - Day 4

Back again!  If this project looks familiar to you, it is!  This was the same cut as the Back To School post, but with different papers!
This gift bag uses craft paper - looks like a paper lunch bag, doesn't it?  The tab is made from the new Scholastic papers from Close To My Heart® - and, yes, the coffee stain is actually on the paper!  I stamped it with the School is Here (B1407) stamp set, with the heart cut-out and "popped".

Tomorrow is Day 5 of this wonderful cartridge - and I will have a little more information for you!

Artiste - Day 3

Welcome back!  Today, I have this adorable scalloped box to share with you:
This box was created with the Stella papers from Close To My Heart®.  Add the lace flower (with a pop of Sunset behind it), and a pewter brad.  You instantly have a gift box.

This box is featured on page 74 of the cartridge book and page 57 of the Assembly Instructions.
Don't forget, this cartridge is available on August 1st - one week from today!  Stop back tomorrow for a new project!

Back to School

This gift bag is also from the new Artiste Cartridge.  I used Cranberry cardstock and a new stamp set called School is Here (B1407).  The chalkboard was made with our new Chalkboard Vinyl Sheet and Chalk Marker.  I made the "wood" with Universal Backgrounds (D1477).  The ribbon is Cranberry, and the gingham, leftovers in my stash of goodies!  I think I'll fill it with chocolate and give it to a school friend.

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for Day 3 of the Artiste Cartridge.

It's Cricut Artiste Week!

I thought it would be nice to show you a few projects that I have made using the new Cricut Artiste Cartridge.  This amazing cartridge will be available on August 1st through Me, your Close To My Heart® Consultant.
If you'd like to see more about it, click here.

As I was flipping through the Assembly Book, I stopped on page 16 where three boxes were showcased. The middle one caught my eye, because it was full of holes!  I immediately thought - Luminaria!

I did use some retired paper, but everything else is new and from the Artiste Cartridge.  I put a battery-powered candle inside and here's a look at it in the dark:
I picture a grouping of these on the mantle for Halloween.  Change the paper and you are ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I hope this gets your creative juices flowing!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see a project using our new Chalk Marker and Chalkboard Vinyl!

My Time To Craft - Make It Wet!

It's time for a new challenge over at My Time To Craft and since I've just joined the Design Team...

I decided to go with the beach!  The papers and images are Close To My Heart®.  I added some ribbon, a button and brads.  Notice no one is in the chair - they must be in the ocean!

Now head over to My Time To Craft and see what the rest of the Design Team has created!

Frosted Design Card Sketch #23

This is a bitter-sweet post for me.  I have loved creating projects for the Frosted Designs blog for the past year and a half. The Design Team there is amazing, but it is time for me to say goodbye.  We made the decision to end the Card Sketch Challenge and the time was right.  This was a difficult decision, since I was offered a spot on the Fabulous Friday Team.  I am currently on two other Design Teams that should keep me busy!  Besides, you never know, I might be back, since Frosted Designs will always have a special place in my heart!
That being said, here is the final sketch:

Here is what I did with it:
This card uses some retired paper from Close To My Heart®.  I added a piece of embossed cardstock, Bakers Twine, and the sentiment.  If you look carefully in the lower-left corner, you'll see the black pearl I added.

Now be sure to visit Frosted Designs.  We have a wonderful prize for you!
Have a great week!

You can get all of these things for yourself from Ginger Snap Scraps.

3-D Project

Ginger Snap Scraps is featuring 3-D Projects today.  Because I believe paper-crafting should be easy and fun, I decided to make this little favor box:

I cut this box using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.

I Cried Today

Meet Tylar and his Dad:

I first met Tylar as a boy in my First Grade Class.  He was suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and was in a wheelchair.  His Dad wanted nothing less than the best for him.  I can't tell you how much I respect him for his dedication to his son.

Tylar was a boy who never complained.  He was facing great odds, but never had a "down" moment.  I know that because we spent 2 school years together.  After First Grade, I looped my class to Second Grade and Tylar came with  me.  I haven't seen him in years, but through Facebook, we were able to reconnect, even though we live thousands of miles away.  Tylar graduated from high school last month, a proud day for him and everyone who knew him.

Today, Tylar lost the battle with his disease.  Deep in my heart I know that he his free from his diseased body and is in heaven.  I cried for all of us who are left here, missing him.

Godspeed, Tylar.  You made everyone around you a better person.

Tim Holtz Summer Inks Card

Ginger Snap Scraps is at it again.  We've decide to showcase these beautiful inks!  Here is what I did with them:

Now, you may be saying, "How did she do that?"  Well, let me tell you....

I started with one of my clear acrylic blocks and stamped the ink directly on it:

Then I sprayed a little water on it:

Placed a piece of cardstock on top:

And you end up with this beautiful background!

The colors I used are: Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac, and Peacock Feathers.  Get yours here.  Add some twine and a sentiment, and you have a beautiful card to give away!  Click the links to get yours today!

Frosted Design Card Sketch #22

Welcome back, Everyone!  As the heat sweeps across the country, I choose to spend my time in my craft room.  Hoping you can do the same and stay cool!  Here is the new Sketch:
Thank you Heather for creating this beautiful sketch!

I used the Sonoma papers and Thanks sentiment from Close To My Heart®  I just love the soft colors in this paper.  It gives it a bit of a vintage feel.  Remember, if you like what you see, you can click on my Shop link at the top of my blog and get your very own!
