With Independence Day just around the corner, I decided to make a Subway Art card to honor the day. It was pretty easy, given the fact that the stamps are acrylic and you can see where you are stamping.
As some of you already know, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Creating Keepsakes Convention on Friday. It was held at the South Point Hotel. So, we had to have our picture taken with the Benny Binion Statue.
A very nice man, who was passing by, offered to take it for us. Tammy and I were now ready to take on convention!
When we registered, we received the tickets to our classes, a door prize ticket, and this book:
We continued on to the Store to purchase t-shirts, hoodies, and pins.
The hot glue gun pin has a special place in my heart - if you remember my post about the glue gun? You can read it here and here.
We went on to the Vendor Fair since our first class wasn't until 11:30. There were lots of vendors, some with make 'n takes, and SO much to see! We made sure to drop off our tickets for door prizes and then we came to this booth:
...with the nicest guy:
He was selling adhesive. But there were 2 containers in the corner of his booth. He told us that for $5 we could have anything from those 2 containers that we could fit in the green bag. Well, you know I love a challenge! There were two ladies going through the bins and it was hard to get in there. So, I asked him if we could put it on the floor. The ladies behind me were ecstatic when I asked him and he said yes! Here is what happened:
Bless his heart! He even took pictures for all of us! Tammy and I made some new friends - Hi Ladies!!! - sitting on that floor and we came away with lots of buttons, safety pins, hinges, stamp sets, and paper pads. Do you see the green bags? We ran into him later in the day and he thanked me for the "feeding frenzy"!!! Happy to help!
The day continued with two classes, lots of shopping, lunch, more shopping, and did I mention the shopping???? Late in the day, we decided to check the board to see if either of us had won a door prize. Imagine my surprise when I saw my name! I received a $15 gift certificate to one of the vendors. Here's what I picked out:
I think I added about $5 to get all of it! I was so excited!
By the end of the day, we were worn out!
Tired, but still smiling!
We both agreed, next year, we are going for 2 days and staying overnight!
Here's a pic of the stash that came home with me:
It doesn't look like much now that I see it spread out. But, there are cards and scrapbook layouts in there. I just couldn't get everything in the picture if I spread it all out.
I'll try to get some pics of the cards and layouts so you can see them.

Here is today's project:
I just love listening to the birds in the summertime!
It started out like this:
Here is one more view:
I used the Lost & Found Papers from My Minds Eye, which can be found here at Ginger Snap Scraps. I dressed it up with a few things I had in my stash, and now I have something new to add to my craft room!
Back again with another sketch. Did you check out the Blog Hop this past weekend. Some of the Design Team Members got together and shared their Crafting Spaces. If you'd like to check it out, click here.
On to the sketch:
I really love the simple design of this sketch! Here is what I did:

Welcome to the Craft Space Blog Hop! If you have just arrived from Frosted Designs, you are in the right place. I am so happy that you are here to take a tour through my Craft Room. Be sure to read the entire post, you don't want to miss my give-away! Here is the view from the door:
The table and chair is from an old kitchen set. The mirror was an estate sale find, and the filing cabinet? That was a freebie that needed to be painted black!
Standing in the door and looking to the left, this is what you see:
Two folding tables are wrapped in fabric with velcro. The shelf holds a few finished pieces, and you may remember the wine cork wreath from here. Underneath those tables you will find:
Those famous iris carts! Yes, I used to have them filled with wood-mounted stamps. Since we've gone acrylic, they now hold all of the "stuff" that we crafters collect. You know, glue gun, craft heater, punches, Cricut cartridges, embellishments, chipboard, and other goodies waiting to be altered! I think this is my favorite storage space because I was able to re-use something that I already had! I keep my stamp pads here:
This is just a quick shot of the goodies on top of my filing cabinet:
On the other side of the window is my desk. It is an old drafting table that I refinished. The chair is my Sahara Chair.
Now, let's move on to the closet. I removed the doors and hung curtains for better access.
This is where I store my papers and my stamps. As you can see, those wire cubes hold a ton of paper! My stamps are in the drawers and I still have some room to grow in them!
Last, but not least:
The Pig Hooks!
These hooks are very important. Not only do they hold my apron, they hold the curtains when I need to get into the closet!
I'm sure you've noticed how this room is very neat and clean. The reality? When I'm working, it's a mess! Here is the proof:
I hope you've enjoyed this tour of my craft room. The original plan was to make it a Shabby Chic space, but, I think it ended up being a girly space that is uniquely me! I feel so fortunate to have a space that is all mine! Thanks for taking the tour, and I'd love to hear what you think of it!
Now for the prize! Because you took the time to take my tour, I am offering this stamp set as a prize:

I made this cute card from Echo Park papers. After scoring the cone, I inked it with some brown ink to give it a little depth. Each scoop was inked around the edges in a coordinating color.
We have five generous and fabulous sponsors giving away prizes for our hop. Let's see what they're serving :)
