Christmas Countdown Box

It's almost December, so it's about time I started sharing some Christmas projects.  The Christmas Countdown Box is a great way to start the season.
There are 24 cards, each containing a Holiday activity.

The basic Close To My Heart® materials you need are:
  • My Creations® Memory Box - it contains 24 cards
  • Believe Level 2 Paper Pack
  • Countdown stamp set
  • Designer Ribbon - Green Collection
In addition you'll need:
  • 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch
  • Holiday Red and Topiary ink
  • Sponge
  • Corner Rounder
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Adhesive
Start by inking the edges of the box and cards.
Cut your paper for the box (all in inches):
Top:  3 1/8 x 3 1/2
Flap: 3 1/8 x 1 1/2
Front and Back :  3 1/8 x 3 1/8
Sides:  3 1/2 x 3 1/8

Glue to box and add pop-pom trim to the flap.  I also added a button.

Card Backgrounds:  2 7/8 x 2 7/8
Round the corners, if you like, and glue to cards.

Cut activities to 1 1/2 x 2"
Round the corners, if you like, and glue to cards.

If you'd like a copy of the 24 activites (they are in a Word document), send me an e-mail and I will send them to you - free of charge.

Punch your circles and stamp your numbers 1-24.  Attach to cards.  And that's it!  You have a beautiful box of activites to share with your family as Christmas approaches.

A few of us are making these tomorrow.  Let me know if you'd like to make one too!

"Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving...

...and I wanted to share my favorite Thanksgiving book:

If you're familiar with this story, you know that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving - including the turkeys!  They were very thankful.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season!

Frosted Designs Card Sketch #6

Back again with another beautiful card sketch and my interpretation of it.
This card was made with Dreamin' papers from Close To My Heart®, flourishes from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, and a retired sentiment that I've always loved!

Here's the sketch:

Jenny Evans did a fabulous job on this sketch, don't you think?
I hope you'll join us for this challenge - we have an amazing prize!  Here's a sneak peak:

Now head over to Frosted Designs for all the details.  It's time to get your craft on!
I'm also entering this at Heart 2 Heart.  Their challenge is "time" and the sentiment has the word time in it!

Turkey

Now if you read my previous post that involved this:

It's time to show you the reason for this burn:
Isn't he adorable?  My friend Katie showed me how to make this turkey.  It involved Dreamin' papers from Close To My Heart®, circle punches, some ink, foamcore, and, of course, the evil hot glue gun!  I think he came out great!  I had only finished one row of feathers when I burned myself.  Finishing the rest was a bit of a challenge, since that finger throbbed for hours!
I'm going to enter him in this week's challenge over at Heart2Heart.  This week it's all about gratitude.  Who am I grateful for?  Our wonderful friends Judi and Rodger, who are hosting Thanksgiving this year.
Thanks for stopping by to have a look!

Crafting Injury

I'm sure you all can relate.

I fought the glue gun.....
...and the glue gun won!

It feels like it's still "cooking".  This really put a damper on my crafting plans for today (and it makes it more difficult to type)!  I'll be back later to show you what I'm working on - you're gonna love it!!!  Nope, not gonna let a little glue gun burn end my plans!
But, I must wonder - have I permanently altered my fingerprints?!?

Feeling the Christmas Spirit!

I got to spend a little time in my new craft room today and the result was "Christmassy"!
This card uses last year's Christmas Paper from Close To My Heart®  The sentiment is from A1110 A Timber, but the poinsettia, that is from the new Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!
It started out looking like this:
I cut three flowers at 3", 2 1/2", and 2".  I scored them from point to point and then used my embossing stylus to score the veins in the petals.  After they were scored, I etched them a bit with one of my files, folded them bit, and inked them with Cranberry ink.  After making one more flower in Topiary, and adding some brads, I had my poinsettia:

Since the challenge at Heart To Heart is metal, I'm entering this card there.  Brads are metal, right?  I think I'll add it to Make It Monday, too.  I've been neglecting these blogs for too long!

Have a great week, everyone!

Have You Discovered....

Follow Me on Pinterest
?

If you've never heard of it, I'm sure you're asking, "What in the world is Pinterest?"  In one word?  FABULOUS!
Actually, it is a virtual pinboard.  It's a place to "pin" all of the wonderful things that you find while you are on the internet.  People use it for all different reasons - to plan an event, decorate, store recipes, craft ideas, etc.  The fun part is browsing through other pin boards created by people from all over the world.  Now, in all honesty, it can eat up a lot of time if you're not careful.  But there is so much good stuff out there!!!!
Now if I've convinced you that you need to check this out, send me an e-mail and I will invite you.  Once you get started, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

Here's a quote that I found on Pinterest:

Send me an e-mail.  Ask for an invite.  You'll know what I mean!
Have a fabulous Saturday!
