Hungry Hummingbirds

Yesterday was extremely windy is Vegas.  The poor little hummingbirds couldn't get to the feeder since it was swinging wildly and they kept getting pushed back by the wind.  Needless to say, they were pretty hungry today.  When I went out to get the feeder, they were buzzing all around me.  Here's what happened when I went out with the newly refilled feeder:
This little one was so hungry he decide to eat while the feeder was still in my hand.

Here's a close-up:
Isn't he/she cute?  I just love my little birds!

This little lizard decided to come out for some sun too!  I'm amazed he let me get close enough for a photo!
Of course, he HAD to sit right next to the bird poop!  I guess lizards aren't very particular!!!!

Fabulous Friday: Picnics and BBQs

I can't believe it's Memorial Day Weekend already!  That means it's offically time for picnics and BBQ's.  I made this little invitation for our challenge at Frosted Designs.

I masked the watermelon images and filled in the color with sponge daubers.  I hope you'll stop over and see the artwork of all those talented ladies!  They never disappoint!
We have no big plans for the weekend (unless Trisha's coming to town!), which is probably a good thing after such a busy one last weekend!!  Maybe I'll get some quality time to get some crafting done!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

End of the World Weekend

The weekend began with a fabulous dinner with friends, Jeff and Susan at the M Resort.  We ate at Terzetto's.  The food was AMAZING!
Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market at Floyd Lamb Park.  No one seemed concerned about the end of the world - especially not the peacocks!

Saturday night we were invited out by our friends Judy and Rodger.

We had dinner at Lucille's in The District and then went to the Henderson Pavilion for their production of The Wizard of Oz.  The funniest part of the entire show was when Toto almost bit off the Scarecrow's nose.  The little dog had enough acting for one night!

The Henderson Pavilion reminds me of SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) in New York.  I attended many concerts there!  Henderson is just a smaller version!

It was a great weekend and the world did not end!  Therefore, we have the opportunity to do it all over again!

Have a great week everyone!

Emboss Resist

This card uses a technique called "Emboss Resist".  I heat embossed the rose with white embossing powder, then sponged ink over the image.  After rubbing the ink off of the white embossing, this was the result:
I sponged the background and the edges of the image with a little Desert Sand ink.  I'm entering this card in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week!
It's been a really busy (and fun) weekend - yes, another post will follow! This was the result of a little "me time" today.  I've also posted this over at Make It Monday.
Have a great week everyone!

Gingham and Roses

I was feeling creative today and came up with this little card.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday:
Here's a close-up of the rose:

You can find the tutorial for this rose here. I was also going to enter in in the Cupcake Craft Challenge,  but their link is already closed.  Oh well, I hope you, my followers, enjoy it!  Remember, you can always click on a photo for a closer look!

It's almost Monday, and I know I've got a busy week ahead!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Ribbon And Twine

I'm happy to see that Blogger is up and running again - because it's Fabulous Friday!!!!  This weeks' challenge is Ribbon/Twine.  I used the Bliss Papers and added ribbon and twine (of course!) along with some pearls, a flower that pops out and a button!  Here's what it looks like:
Now hurry over to Frosted Designs to see the rest of the Design Team's artwork!
Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend!

Colonial White & Black

I needed a Sympathy Card.  Here's what I created:
Nothing fancy, but I like the look.  I just wish it could have been for a happy occasion.

I'm linking this to Make It Monday.
