Just Water?

Not exactly!  Take a simple bottle of water.  Add one decorated paper door hanger with a pocket, a drink mix packet, and some chocolate (it's hiding in the pocket), and you have a cute gift to brighten someone's day!

Have a Happy Day!

Fry Box With Roses

This fry box was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World.  Here is the inspiration photo:

As you can see, the colors were my inspiration.  I used Taffy and Sunkiss Yellow cardstock from Close To My Heart® .  Some pearls and lace finished the look.  Since I didn't have a gift ready to go inside, I just used some tissue paper.  This also qualifies for The Shabby Tea Room - Pastels and Stripes!

A Tisket, A Tasket...

...it's an Easter Basket!  This pattern has been around for forever!  I remember making them in elementary school, and believe me, that was a looong time ago!
Here's a look from above:

I started with a 9"X9" piece of cardstock and scored it every 3".  I used  A1112 A Hop to decorate it.

Now this is a Bunny Hop that starts today.  So, be sure to start hopping to see more Easter/Spring artwork!

Handmade Embellishment

Since I posted the Paper Rosebud Tutorial, I thought it was time I showed you a card using it!
This has to be my all-time favorite Close To My Heart® paper.  It's called Elegant Bouquet and retired.  The rosebud is from my tutorial, the punch is from Martha Stewart, and the sentiment is from D1255 Thought of You.

Now head over to Frosted Designs for the Handmade Embellishments Challenge and to see more fantastic artwork!  How about making something and entering the challenge?  I'd love to see your name over there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Party Like A Rock Star?

Maybe is should be:  "Dress Like A Rock Star".  That was how we ended Reading Week!
Yes, that's me!  Some of our students didn't recognize me when I came out for Opening Ceremonies.

Then there was Literacy Night with a theme of "A Jammin' Evening"

Yes, only teachers would wear PJs to work!
All in all, it was a fun week.  The kids read over 100,000 pages, played Book BINGO everyday, decorated their classroom doors, and more.  Most importantly, they had fun while reading.
Me?  I'm exhausted and my feet hurt.  But that's OK -  the kids and their parents told me how much fun they had all week!  It makes it all worthwhile!
Now, I'm going to put my feet up!

There's a Chicken on Your Head!

That's right.  It's Reading Week again and we kicked it off with Hat Day!  Mr. Dwyer, our Librarian had the best hat of the day - at least in my opinion!
Yes, there were several jokes about laying eggs!
Tomorrow is Read a Shirt Day and Gary Hogg comes to visit.  It's going to be a great week!
