Stuffed Pepper Soup

After watching a little football this afternoon and noting the single digit temperatures, I thought it was time to post the recipe for Stuffed Pepper Soup.  This is a recipe that is sure to warm you up!

Stuffed Pepper Soup

2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
5 green peppers, chopped
Brown these ingredients and drain well.

Now add:
6 cans of tomato soup & 5 cans of water
1 can of beef broth & 1 broth can of water
2 teaspooons brown sugar
2 small cans  tomato sauce
1 & 1/2 cups of uncooked white rice

Simmer until the rice is cooked.

I like to make this soup ahead and let it sit.  That way it really thickens up.  To be perfectly honest , it's better the next day, but you may need to add some water.

Keep warm and enjoy!

Dresser Stair-Step Card

Thanks to Deneen Treble for sharing this fabulous card design on her blog.  I just had to try it!  Here is my version:

She even added this great template, for those of us who are visual learners!

I used a new Close To My Heart® stamp set (C1442 Tailor-Made) that will be available in the new Spring/Summer Idea Book.  I sanded all of the edges to give it a little "shabby" look and used Pearl Gems as knobs on the drawers.  Since the colors match the Heart To Heart Challenge, I think I'll post it there too!  Be sure to click on the badge to the right.

I just love this design and I'm planning a Valentine's Day card using this template.  Be sure to stop by regularly starting on February 1st for the Valentine's Day Blog Hop.  There will be tons of artwork that you won't want to miss!

It's time to check on my hubby!  Thanks for stopping by!

Surgery is Done!

I just brought my husband home from surgery a few hours ago.  He had his shoulder done and the doctor is pleased.  He is currently taking his pain meds and my son is "keeping an eye on him" while I write this!  Tomorrw he begins physical therapy!

I have a few ideas for some new posts!  Just give me a few days to get him settled and into a routine!  Fortunately, I have a few weeks off to take care of him!  Annnnd... I'm sure a few crafts/cards can be made while sitting in waiting rooms!

Thanks for stopping by - and don't forget to come back!

Soar Card

This card was made with the Find Your Style stamp set from Close To My Heart®.  I rocked the bird stamp to give it the blue edge and sanded & sponged the edges of the cardstock.  I really like the simplicity of this card.
I've entered it in the Heart To Heart Challenge and  The Shabby Tea Room Challenge

Thanks for looking!

Have A Heart - Take 2

Apparantly, Our librarian is now our school new correspondent!  Actually this is what he posted after I gave him the photo of the teriyaki chicken "heart".  He is SO creative!

 KC Kitchen Chronicles

vol. 1, issue 1
Let's face the unappetizing fact: school lunch doesn't get much respect. At KC, lunch loves the kids anyway. This piece of Teriyaki Chicken was found on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in the school's kitchen. Food Service Manager Natalie found this piece of lovin' lunch on the floor. When interviewed about the miraculous event, she said, "Hey, what can I say, I've got heart!" School staff is hoping that it's an omen . . . but the fact that it was found on the floor suggests that this may not be a good omen. In any case, the community is optimistic that it is a sign of good things to come in February, the nationally certified month of romantic love.

Cafeteria Correspondent

I know what you're thinking - Two posts about a piece of chicken found on the floor????  Really?
What can I say?  It's that "other" side of me.

I promise this will be the end of it!  At least until we find something else that is just as worthy!
It's almost Friday!

Have A Heart

Today, during lunch duty, our Food Service Manager, Natalie, found this:
You may be asking yourself, "What the heck is that thing?"  It just happens to be a piece of teriyaki chicken from someone's school lunch tray.  As she moved one of the carts, there it was, lying on the floor.  Natalie is convinced that it's a sign that she WILL find her true love.  I hope she does!  Anyway, when she saw it, she picked it up (with a napkin) and saved it until I could run to my office for my camera.
So, here it is, in all it's glory.  I gave a copy of the photo our Librarian, Ryan.  He does these great "demotivators" that always make us laugh.  If you've been following my blog for awhile, you remember the "bacon" t-shirt that he gave me last April.  I can't wait to see what he does with this!

On a sidenote,  do you think we could sell it on E-Bay?

Thanks for stopping by!

CRAFT - What Does It Mean?

C  - Can't
R  - Remember
A  - A
F  - Flippin' (or some other creative F word you may know!)
T  - Thing

When my friend Alecia shared this with me, I nearly fell off my chair!  I knew it needed to be shared!

Aunt Millie's Birthday Card

My husband's Great Aunt Millie turned 96 this week.  How wonderful is that?  This is the card I made for her:
After I made it, I realized that it fit the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room .  They are welcoming 2011 with projects that have eleven elements.  Here they are:
3  colors of cardstock
2  patterned papers
2 stamps
1 ribbon
1 brad
1 color of ink
1 flower embellishment
11 Total

Happy Birthday, Aunt Millie!

"Find Your Style" Card

Tresa Black over at Fabulously Artsy is hosting a Linky Party to showcase the items in the new Inspirations brochure from Close To My Heart®.  I used the Find Your Style stamp set with Mistletoe papers.
I like how it turned out.  I hope you do too!
Stop by again soon, I have more to post!
