How Do I Explain This?

We have the most wonderful Librarian at our school.  Not only are his skills as a Librarian second to none, but he is witty, and has the BEST sense of humor!  He finds these amazing pictures and quotes as response to various posts on our school's electronic bulletin boards.  Topics range from meeting minutes, dates that things are due, to "Who burned the popcorn?"

Ryan also has a lot of fun with my last name, and since I post a lot on Literacy, he has plenty of opportunities to respond to my posts.  Below is one of the all-time favorites!  What the picture doesn't show is that it is actually a t-shirt!  He presented this to me at our faculty meeting on Friday.  I don't know where he finds this stuff!

Ryan, you are the best!  I love the shirt!  And, I hope you never stop entertaining us!

Heart2Heart Challenge #2

This was a 1-2-3 Challenge.  I had to use 1 stamped image, 2 different patterned papers, and 3 embellishments.  I used this challenge as an opportunity to showcase some of the new items from the Close To My Heart Summer Idea Book.  The 1 stamped image is from the You're Sweet (B1351) stamp set.  The 2 patterned papers are from the Cherry-O Level 2 Paper Packet (X7123B).  My 3 embellishments include tulip ribbon, a chocolate brad, and our new Cherry-O Opaques (Z1319).

Bookmark - Make It Count

I just love bookmarks!  This one was inspired by the PaperCrafts CD that was included with the March/April 2010 issue.  Materials are from Close To My Heart:
D1257 Make It Count
C1192 Air Mail
D1263 Blooming Flourishes

Colonial White cardstock
Black cardstock

Black ribbon

Ink:  Black and Desert Sand

Rhinestones - not CTMH

I think it has a real elegant feel.  Thanks for looking!

A Desert Oasis

Today we spent the afternoon at a very unlikely place - for a desert.  There were trees, green grass, ponds, ducks, and more.  We were at Floyd Lamb Park in the northwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley.  The park includes Tule Springs Ranch, which was once a working ranch, complete with cattle and alfalfa.  Not what you'd expect in a desert!

The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm.  People were picnicking, fishing, and feeding the ducks.  I can't wait to go back!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Yesssireeee, when I grow up, I'm gonna be just like you!

Who's the wise guy that got me all wet!

Heart2Heart Challenge

The colors are Sunflower, Sweet Leaf, and Chocolate.  The stamp set is a retired Sunflower set that I still love.  See the challenge at
