Chipboard Purse

This little creation was inspired by Vicki Wizniuk, who gave me permission to "lift " her ideas and apply it to a different chipboard shape.  The chipboard is part of a book that I bought at Michael's.  I just used one of the pages, painted the edges, covered it in paper, embellished it a bit, and attached a little box to the back.  It's just the right size for a gift card.  Since shopping is one of my passions, I just couldn't resist!  I thin the next one is going to have more "bling" though!

Ham & Cheese Scrolls

This recipe is one of my favorites.  Whenever my sister-in-law comes to visit, she asks me to make these - along with baked ziti.  But, that's a post for another time.  I made these last weekend for Nancy and they were a hit.  Here's the recipe:
1 sheet of puff pastry
2 tbsp of pesto - I tend to use a little more
6 thin slices of honey ham
6 thin slices of Swiss Cheese

Roll out the pastry to a rectange shape.  Spread the pesto over it.  Top with the ham slices, then the cheese.  Roll one of the long sides of the pastry to the middle.  Repeat with the other side.  Cut the roll into slices with a bread knife.  Bake on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper at 425 degrees for 11 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Enjoy!!

A Good-bye Party

One of our Teacher's Aides left this week.  She and her husband are moving to Pennsylvania.  The staff said their good-byes on Thursday and Katie had a party for her on Saturday.  Nancy is a truly special person.  She takes pride in everything she does and cares about those around her.  Our students and staff have been very fortunate to have her at our school.
Nancy, I wish you all the best and I'll be looking for your new blog!

Sad Day

Today I learned that my friend and colleague, Nancy Housman lost her battle with ovarian cancer.  Although we only met  a year and a half ago, we hit it off immediately.  She was our Computer Specialist and had a fantastic sense of humor.  Nancy loved the outdoors and was a talented artist.  My heart goes out to her family and friends.
I will miss you, Nancy!

Somebirdy

It's almost Valentine's Day, so I figured I'd better get started on my cards!  Here is the first installment.  It's for my husband, so, shhhhhhh, don't tell!!!  I used the Love Birds stamp set from Close To My Heart.  Inside it says," captured my heart!"
I know, corny - but cute!
Stay tuned for more!
