It's a few days after Christmas. We restocked the pantry and refrigerator and decided it was a good day to see a movie. What made it even better was the fact that I had 2 free movie tickets! We saw Sherlock Holmes and I highly recommend it! Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law were fantastic. I don't want to give away the details of the movie, but I hope there's a sequel!
Whenever we go to the movies, my husband insists that we spend a few dollars in the penny slot machines. Now, in all honesty, I find this to be a terrible waste of money, so I always cut myself off after a few dollars. Seriously, think what you could do with that in the Dollar Store!!
Anyway, we sit down at these two machines. Mine had something to do with lobsters. As I'm sitting there pushing the button (nope, you don't pull a handle anymore) and thinking, "Why am I doing this?", I suddenly realize that I'm ahead over twenty dollars and I've only put three dollars in the machine!
Before the amount went below twenty dollars, I cashed out. I firmly believe in the "bird in the hand" theory! I look over at my husband's machine, and he was also over twenty dollars. I encouraged him to cash out too! After that, we played two more dollars and lost it. Bottom line: we played with a total of seven dollars, and cashed out for twenty dollars each! WooHoo! OK, so I'm not a big gambler - but I was happy!
I think I'm going back to Michaels tomorrow. Those dollar bins are calling me!!

I'm sure I mentioned that I LOVE to shop! Well, I ventured out today to see what the sales were like. I ended up getting some new jeans, some holiday towels, etc, but the best place was Michaels! Their $1 bins were marked 60% off. The lady standing next to me asked if that could be right. Let me tell you - it was!
Great goodies for 40 cents each! Can you beat that? I think I need to go back for more! Let's face it, when it comes to shopping, it's the "Thrill of the Chase" aka "The Best Deals"!! Sorry I can't tell you what I got - they are being carefully tucked away for next Christmas. The stockings will be well stuffed!
And, yes, I will be able to find the goodies after they've been tucked away. I've been doing this for years!
Anybody else find great deals that we need to know about???
